ActiveBPEL™ Designer User’s Guide

Using WSDL Operations in BPEL Activities

One of the key productivity features of Web References is accessing WSDL operations for use in your process designs.

For example, you can display a list of WSDL port types and from them select an operation to drag directly to the Process Editor canvas. This action starts a wizard to help you create an appropriate activity as part of your process definition. There is no need to hand-code BPEL XML files. ActiveBPEL generates valid code as you make selections from the wizards.

For more information, see Creating an Activity by Starting with a Web Reference.

In addition, if no WSDL elements exist in Web References for an activity you want to create, you can select Operation Wizard from the Activity palette. This action starts a wizard to help you create an appropriate activity that includes new WSDL elements that you add to a new or existing WSDL.

For more information, see Creating an Activity Using the Operation Wizard.
